The 2nd Annual Women and AIDS U.S. Tour
– “Empower Women: Fight AIDS”

Building on the momentum of the inaugural Women and AIDS U.S. Tour (held in March 2005), the Global Coalition will once again bring a group of dynamic and inspiring women living with HIV from around the globe to share their experiences and stories – and the aspirations and needs of millions of women and girls worldwide – with Americans in four U.S. cities.

From June 8-15, the 2006 tour will visit Detroit, Minneapolis, Houston, and Washington, D.C. In each city, the tour will speak directly to the challenges faced by women worldwide and engage, educate, and enlist citizens, leaders and organizations and institutions who have the capacity to create change for women worldwide.

The tour will show that AIDS is not just about facts and figures, but real human beings with stories to tell and lessons to teach. It will highlight the messages of help, hope and the critical need for AIDS solutions that work for women and girls in the developing world

15 June 2006 - Women & AIDS U.S. Tour concludes on Capitol Hill
The “Empower Women: Fight AIDS” education Tour concluded with a series of high-profile events in Washington, DC. After visiting three U.S. cities to promote an AIDS response that works for women and girls worldwide, the Tour delivered its message to Capitol Hill.
