In October 2006, the GCWA provided support to ICW Latina's first Latin America and Caribbean Congress of Women, Adolescents and Girls and the 7th Regional Meeting of Women, in Panama. The meeting produced a Declaration calling for commitment to ensure that they work alongside people living with HIV and AIDS in responding to the HIV epidemic, including alongside women, young girls and adolescents who live in poverty and experience exclusion, migrant women, women who are heads of household, drug users, sexual workers, refugees, women in confinement and women from indigenous groups.
